Customers Review For Fellows Powershred Shredder PS-67
5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the rest that I've owned!, August 3, 2008
This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)Over the years I have purchased several "off the shelf" cheap shredders, and I have been dissapointed every time. Every time my shredder dies, I go to my local Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc... and buy whatever they have for cheap. Those shredders just don't do the job. When my last shredder died, I decided to spend some more $$ and get a better one. With this purchase, I am very happy!
When I received the box in the mail, I could immediatly tell it was better and more substantial by the weight of it. This is a solidly built shredder! It does not feel like a light little toy like so many other previous shredders I have owned.
I like the small strips it produces, (although I thought they would be a little smaller), and I am happy with the security that it provides me.With Fellows Powershred Shredder PS-67, I shred EVERYTHING that has any form of my name, address, or personal info on it. Nothing just goes in the trash for someone to snoop through and possibly violate me.
The "SafeSense sensor" bar is a nice touch. If you get too close and touch anywhere around the opening, the shredding immediately stops until you remove your finger. I like this safety feature with little ones in the house.
The best feature I can tell you about is how QUIET this is!!! Let me say it again in case you didn't hear me over your old, loud shredder... This one is QUIET!! We shred mail while carrying on a conversation or watching TV and hardly know that the shredder is on. Previous shredders I've owned sounded like a jet engine chewing up the paper.
I've owned this Fellows Powershred Shredder for a few weeks now, and have not found anything I do not like. I believe you would be very happy with this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great shredder, March 8, 2007

Best shredder I've ever had. It shreds credit cards with no problem. It takes a while for the bucket to fill (unless you're catching up on six month's of junk mail or clearing out a filing cabinet.) Taking the shredder off the bucket can cause some of the shredded paper to fall on the floor. If you close the flap on the bottom of the shredder as you take it off the bucket, you can prevent this

This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
This is a good shredder - all the Fellows Powershred Shredder, I have used have been. It shreds 8 sheets, like it says, and has a little credit card slot which I am not sure is really needed. The "Safe sense" feature, however, is annoying. If you so much as touch the giant silver bar on the front of the shredder while putting the paper in it trips the "Safe sense" sensor, and stops the shredder. It actually makes it quite difficult to use. Had I known how sensitive it were I would have looked for a shredder without that feature. The slot is so small anyway I can't see how even a child could get fingers into it. It also interferes with any paper that is not loaded perfectly straight. If the paper is crooked it will feed upward, trigger the sensor, and shut off the shredder. Extremely annoying.
That brings me to my second complaint: the width of the slot is too small. It is only 9 inches wide, which means you can't stick full size envelopes in it. You have to fold them first, and then load them perfectly straight so it doesn't trip the safe sense sensor. The shredder I replaced, also a fellows powershred shredder, did not have any of those problems.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fellows Powershred PS-67s 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder, November 2, 2008
This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)Important to me that I rate this product. I read the reviews from other customers and I took a chance in purchasing this particular shredder. I have now had a chance to use the shredder for over a month and really love the way it shreds. I had a cross cut before and there really isn't too much difference in the shredding ability. It is quite compared to my other one and has twice as much larger capacity bin. Price is better overall than what I paid for my last shredder. I hope this helps someone else when selecting a new fellows powershred shredder. Mary
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Confetti shredder, August 14, 2008
This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
This powershred shredder is exactly what we were looking for in a home personal shredder. It's fast and effective and fairly powerful. We have managed to jam it a couple of times. If the envelope is fairly thick, open it and feed a few sheets at a time. Duh! We've learned. Clearing the jam is straight forward. Destruction is total! I defy anyone to reassemble a document after it has gone through this machine. I'm sure it can be done, but someone would have to REALLY want to get that information, (can you say "National Security Issue"?), to have enough patience and persistence to do it.
This thing is built like a tank. I don't expect to need another shredder for the foreseeable future. And with the built in safety features, it is ideal even for families with small children.
Overall, 5 stars.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good Medium Duty Confetti Shredder,
This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)
This fellows powershred shredder was purchased to replace cross cut shredder that just died. I like this confetti option, though it runs a little slower than our old shredder and seems to take less thick materials than our cross cutter. The good news is that this shredder requires oil each time it is emptied. On the surface, this might seem like a pain. However, I believe that it will help this one last longer than our previous shredder (a couple of years). By the way, DO NOT RUN any shredder for a long period of time without a break to cool down. This fellows powershred shredder model needs to stop and cool down every 15-20 minutes. Conveniently, you should fill the bin before you hit that maximum time of operation. If you have a lot of material to shred, then stop for a while each time you empty the bin and oil it. It does not like unopened mail, which is pretty much the case with every shredder that I have owned to this point. I like the handle on the shredder, since it makes it easier to remove the shredder top and empty the trash bin. So far, so good and we shred a lot of junk mail at our house.4.0 out of 5 stars Great product!, October 27, 2008
This review is from: Fellows Powershred PS-67Cs 8 sheet Confetti Cut Shredder (Electronics)I purchased this fellows powershred shredder after breaking/jamming two other shredders that claimed to be able to handle 5-8 pages at once. I needed to shred a ton of paper work and broke two (cheap) shredders in the process. I decided to spend some $$ on a good one but wanted to make sure the next one could handle it. I read a lot of reviews and this product seemed to to be a work horse that could handle a lot of paper at once. I am so happy with this product and definitely recommend it to anyone.
